Country’s first driver-less metro , PM Modi will flag off on Dec 28,2020

Delhi Metro has established many records in the country in the field of public transport. In the same sequence, for the first time in the country, on December 28, the Delhi Metro (megenta line metro) will fill the metro speed without driver. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the driverless metro that day. The magenta line will be the first metro corridor in the country, on which this technology will start operating the metro. The metro will be controlled from the central control room at the headquarters of DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation). After the Magenta Line, the Pink Line will also operate a driverless metro.
Actually, both these corridors of phase three have used a communication based train control signal system. With this help, a driverless metro can be operated on both these corridors. Currently, drivers are present in the metro of both these corridors. DMRC appointed a consultant a few months ago to operate the driverless metro. Which inspected the metro tracks, signal systems, control rooms etc. of both corridors. Thereafter some technical changes were made on the Magenta Line corridor.
Apart from this, the Central Government had approved the operation of driverless metro in the past days. After this, it has been decided to start operating the driverless metro between Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West on 37 km long magenta line. On 24 December, Metro has completed 18 years of its operations. This will be DMRC’s biggest success this year as soon as the driverless metro starts operating on December 28. This will be the first time that a metro will run without a driver in India.
